Hippos Roam the Streets

In St Lucia, hippos are often spotted wandering through town. They are known to leave the water to graze on grass in the town’s gardens, often coming into the grounds where our apartments are located. It's an incredible sight to see.

Largest Population of Nile Crocodiles

The St Lucia estuary is home to one of the largest concentrations of Nile crocodiles in South Africa, with thousands of them thriving in the area.

The iSimangaliso Wetland Park, located near St Lucia, is home to over 1,200 animal species, including the “Big Five” and marine life like whales and dolphins.
